Welcome to the club! I really wish they had the gtx2860r gen 2 when I did mine, ended up going with the gtx2867r instead.

Because turbo noises...
In all honesty, I didn’t even do a comparison between the SC and turbo options. I had decided turbo and never looked back

Coming soon! Gotta get my oil cooler and EBCS sorted before I can push it. I’ve got a track day in May.

Its fantastic. I’m hitting full boost by 3300 RPM and the transient response is fantastic since the charge piping is so short.

Sweet. I’m heading to MSR-Cresson (the full 3.1) in a few weeks.

Mine is similar, spools low enough to damage rods so I rarely step on it below 3k rpm.
Such silly stupid fun, still can’t believe subaru/toyota haven’t come out with a hot version, the chassis responds so well to power

I love the 3.1 If you haven’t been out there, take the entry to toilet bowl easy the first couple of laps. The drop after the hill is steeper than it looks. There’s an upside down blue ramp on a hill on the other side of the fence you can use as reference to point your car.

I’ve been on the 1.7 one weekend, but never the full course. Thanks for the tips! Will be my first time back on track in a couple years. Hopefully my 10 year old family sedan can hold its own out there (E90 M3).

the 3.1 is my favorite configuration of the track! you get the fast parts of the 1.7 and the technical parts of the 1.3. Literally the best of both worlds. Your M3 should be fine, just don’t forget fresh fluids and track pads. The back section has some pretty hard braking points that stock brakes can’t handle.

Just got new fluid (ATE 200) and pads still had plenty of life (StopTech Street Perf), also replaced my rear tires (PSS) that were getting close to the wear bars. I’m a dad w/ 3 young kids - I make it to the track infrequently enough that I figure it’s really not worth my while right now to get a dedicated set of track wheels/tires or more aggressive pads (but one day!).

So... what are you doing on the 26th of March? =) We’re coming down with the Tulsa Caffeine & Gasoline track group, and I’m pretty sure we’ve got some openings if you want to take the day off and come out and join us.

I would love to come out, but I don’t want to rush taking the BRZ back to the track. I’ll try to take a half day from work and come hang out though.

Good call - never want to have to call the flatbed to take you home! Don’t burn any vacation on my account, but if you really want to come out it’d be cool to meet you. I’ll have a 300 mile drive home that night, so not sure how late into the afternoon I’ll stay (probably will bug out before 4:00).
I’m driving back to Tulsa from Destin that Saturday, down to Cresson on Sunday, and then back to Tulsa after a full day of hard driving Monday evening. Going to be a little burnt by the time I get back!
